Job Description:

Review vendor technical proposals for medium voltage (MV) switchgear package, low voltage (LV) switchboard package, instrumentation control & automation package and Li-ion battery energy storage system package for hybrid semi-submersible drilling rig
Interpret specifications, perform electrical load analysis, cable sizing calculations and produce electrical drawings for hybrid semi-submersible drilling rig
Review customer technical specifications for an energy storage system (ESS) & their subsystems
Completed hybrid power system laboratory testing
Understand and analyze drilling actual load profile characteristics and propose efficient & most economical solutions for use of main generators and energy storage system
Explore renewable energy integration for yard and rigs (new build/retrofit) on microgrid concept
Produced and delivered engineering design for power generation packages
Performed CAPEX/OPEX study and cost-saving techniques for power generation packages
Completed training electrical engineering software ETAP to ensure safe design operation
